Beginning this fall, we will include Eco-TILLING as
part of the Maize TILLING service. Eco-TILLING is a
way to survey how much allelic diversity there is for
a given gene target and where that diversity is located
(intron v. exon).
We will be screening
48 of the Maize
Diversity lines to identify SNPs and small indels
for your gene target. These 48 lines capture ~ 80% of
the diversity that exists for maize. We will provide
users a table listing the SNPs and indels contained
in each line as well as the gel image marked with the
gene model similar to the one shown here.
Given this information, users can decide which alleles
are potentially interesting and sequence them.
We will update this page
and list the 48 lines selected for Eco-TILLING in a
few weeks.
